Visa for Thailand

Are people with dual citizens (american/thai) required to obtain a visa to enter thailand?

Are people with duple citizens (American/Thai) taken to carry a visa to participate thailand?
I have dual citizenship (American/Thai) and wish to stay in thailand for about 12 months. i’ve heard that i may use my thai passport to enter thailand without having to obtain a visa. is this true and what possible problem might i encounter when coming back to the states?

I never had a problem. When you are in a country, use that passport. For example, when I enter Thailand, I hand them my Thai passport and the same thing when I leave Thailand. On your way out, immigration might inquire about your US visa (but it’s not their business to). Just smile and tell them you are an US citizen. No need to show your passport. Upon arriving the US, hand the US immigration your American passport.Easy as pie.

    The USA does not care if you have other nationalities. However, you are required to enter the USA using your US passport.

    Most countries have a similar rule. That means you will be required to enter Thailand using your Thai passport.

    Not all countries accept dual nationality (ex. Singapore does not), and you need to find out the rules (if any) for Thai dual-nationals.
