It’s quite easy.
You apply in the UK at the Thai Embassy. They are located at 29 (Basement), Queens Gate, London SW7 5JB Open 9.30 to 12.30 and applications must be submitted by hand.
Assuming that you can prove that you have sufficient income to support yourself from pension then you should be OK.
Do it yourself, it’s easy to do. But whatever you do, do not use the legal service like Siam Legal to do it for you, they are a rip off and over charge for there services. Some people even complained about getting cheated out of their money. Very bad idea to use them or any other legal/visa service.
Before anything, you should visit the Thai Embassy, and apply personally, and be sure 100% the legality of it.Never follow any paid legal advice help services on web or ever in Thailand. Good Luck.
It is quite easy. You can enter Thailand on a tourist visa, open a bank account (Kasikorn is foreigner friendly), transfer in 800,000 baht, wait two months and then apply to for a retirement visa in the country. A letter from the bank and a completed application form along with copies of your passport are all you need. Like another answerer said, you certainly don’t need the overpriced services of Siam Legal for something so simple.
You have the option of either arranging the visa in the UK prior to traveling to Thailand or applying for a retirement visa once you are in Thailand at a immigration office in the area you are living in. You should know that there are a number of requirements and restrictions. Anyhow, this website I have provided you with should answer all your queries
