Thailand Marriage Visa

If you are married to a Thai citizen then you can apply for a Thai Marriage Visa also known as a Thai “O” Visa. The “O” stands for “Other” and is used to visiting family in Thailand or to live with your Thai family or Thai wife. This visa is issued to you at a Thai Embassy and is valid for 3 months from the day you enter Thailand.

There a certain documents which need to be handed in when you apply for a Thai Marriage Visa at the Thai Embassy.

1. Copy of your passport

2. Copy of your Thai wifes ID card

3. Copy of your marriage certificate

4. Copy of your wifes ‘House Papers’

They will issue with the Thai Marriage visa and when you enter Thailand you have 3 months to apply for a 1 year visa in Thailand. You need the following documents but you also need additional papers such as:

5. Photos of you and your wife together at home

6. Map to your house in Thailand

7. Proof that you have an income of 40,000 Baht a month or

8. a deposit of 400,000 Bah tin a Thai bank account.
