call the thai consulate, they will help you out. Lucky for me I live in newyork and there is one right here in the city. There is also one in D.C and L.A. Depending which branch is closest to you, thats the one you can call and ask for help. They are usually very nice and are willing to help. I’ll give you the numbers NYC (212) 754-1770, L.A 323-962-2128 or 323-962-9574, D.C (202) 333-9381.I think the easiest way to become a citizen there, is to keep like 3million baht in a thai bank for a certain amount of years. But if you can maybe you can pay’em off and buy your citizenship under the table ;D chok dee krap

Come on retirement visa, if you have a pension of not less than US$ 2000.00 a month. They will give a one-year visa, which you can renew every year, for another year And don’t forget, you must at least have one million Baht to be deposited in the bank every time you renew your visa. Inquire more from your nearest Thai Embassy, and you can get more reliable information. WELCOME to Thailand!
Since you are married to a Thai national, you may apply for a Thailand Marriage Visa that is valid for 1 year. It can be renewed provided that you are still married to your spouse. You must meet the financial requirement of either having a monthly income of at least 40,000 THB or a money in the bank of at least 400,000 THB (2 months old).
Your other option would be to apply for a non-immigrant B visa from your home country that’s valid for 1 year. You cannot renew this visa inside Thailand unless you are working. This visa will allow you to obtain a work permit, buy property, and open a bank account.
LOL @ some answers on YA. No visa of any kind allows you to buy property. Only Thai citizens can own property.
If you are under 50 a Non-imm “O” Thai Wife would probably be the right choice. 400,000 baht in the bank or 40,000 baht a month income plus marriage license, map to home, photos of wedding and home, statement from wife, copy of her id card and house reg, two trips to immigration each year to extend – one to apply and another to get the stamp. You CAN work with this visa.
If you are 50 or older a Retirement visa is another option. 800,000 baht in the bank or monthly income (not sure 65,000?), minimal paperwork and one trip to immigration for the extension each year. You cannot work with a retirement visa.
If you plan to work then get the Non-imm “O” Thai Wife – you can get a work permit with that and if you lose your job you only lose your work permit and not your visa
