Always ensure that you check your calendar. The Embassy will be closed on Mongolian public holidays as well as on Thai local holidays. Always ensure that you have all the correct documents. If you are looking at registering a birth, then you will need the documents from the Thai government to show that the child had been born and registered in Thailand. This will need to be translated and certified. Passports you will also need to call or email them for assistance.
